The final resting place of Queen Nefertiti, the legendary beauty who ruled Egypt with her husband, the Pharaoh Akhenaten may have been found, says a British archaeologist. Nicholas Reeves, the University of Arizona, made the statement after a study by high resolution scanning of the walls of the burial chamber of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the kings, near Luxor. Known for its exquisite beauty, the tomb of Nefertiti has been lost over the centuries since her sudden death in 1340 BC. A new theory emerged after extensive analysis of high resolution images, published on the website last year, Factum Arte, the Madrid-based specialist in art restoration who helped to create the facsimile of the burial chamber of Tutankhamen in Luxor.

Archaeologists and black diggers should find a common language, to combine efforts and work together to preserve historic values in Russia.
If you think that a COP ( the treasure hunting ) is a peaceful, safe and profitable occupation, I hasten to disappoint you – it is not. A man with a metal detector attracts the negative attention of the police and the local population. First, because the diggers are on the bird’s rights. Rather in the law they have no rights at all. If, God forbid, you accidentally got on a historical object (barrow, an ancient settlement, the castle, the ancient man), it is better to pack up and move away. And in time to inform the archaeologists that were walking and stumbled upon a valuable and unique things.
Most often, the diggers, the archaeologists are treated with hatred. They can understand, in fact, they care for the preservation of archaeological sites and artifacts. But there are online allegations that archaeologists themselves are looting and selling the historical value of ancient settlements and burial mounds. Moreover, many treasure hunters are former or current archaeologists. Continue reading
